Adaptation. (2002) review

Kaufman's meta script is just so clever it takes your breath away. Profound and moving meditations on passion and the creative process. The acting is great, it's really funny and the whole postmodern layered tangle fits together in a coherent, enjoyable whole. Just wonderful.

No Country for Old Men (2007) review

Josh Brolin unleashes the furies when he takes their money. Both an extremely effective taut thriller, and a beautifully shot meditation on violence in America. The old men look on helplessly.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind review

A fascinating meditation on love and memory. The portrayal of the inside of the mind is like nothing you've ever seen. Gripping and heart-warming.

Brazil review

Gilliam's wonderful satire looks incredible and has never been more relevant.
